NON-SURGICAL PROCEDURES

Botox

The registered trade name of Botulinum Type A is Botox and it is the first FDA approved botulinum agent for wrinkle reduction. There are now several excellent Wrinkle Reducing Injectables including Dysport and Xeomin. These products work by blocking communication between the nerves and the muscles in the targeted area, temporarily paralyzing the active wrinkles caused by these facial muscles. This treatment results in a more youthful and refreshed appearance and may prevent the formation of future wrinkles.

Following approval of FDA for cosmetic use in 2002, approximately 11.8 million Botox procedures have been administered. This makes Botox the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedure in America.

The visible results of Botox treatments and other Wrinkle Reducing (Dysport, Xeomin, etc) injections can be seen 3-7 days following the treatment, and the wrinkle-reducing results last up to four months. Because the effects of Botox are not permanent, patients are advised to set up periodic maintenance injections.

Fillers

Many people desire to enhance or rejuvenate their aesthetic appearance but do not want to undergo an extensive surgical procedure. Injectable dermal fillers provide an ideal solution for these patients, because they are non-invasive, require minimal post-treatment downtime, and are effective to correct aesthetic changes resulting from aging, sun damage, and facial volume loss. Often referred to as the “lunchtime facelift”, injectable fillers have become one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the United States of America after Wrinkle Reducing injections (Botox / Dysport / Xeomin).
Dermal fillers are primarily used to restore the lost volume to the skin and facial soft tissues. Common areas include the nasolabial folds (the folds at the junction of the upper lip and cheek), marionette lines, smile lines, tear troughs and creases that form along the forehead and upper bridge of the nose. Dermal fillers are also frequently utilized to plump and enhance the volume of patients’ lips, and to restore the lost volume to the cheeks and temples. In addition to providing the instant cosmetic advantage of filling in facial lines and folds, dermal fillers can also stimulate your skin’s natural collagen growth, which may help prevent the formation of wrinkles and folds in the future.

Fat Injections

Fat injections are useful for treating the aesthetic problems caused by the facial volume loss and the breakdown of collagen and elasticity.

Some of the visible signs of aging that can be treated with fat injections include:
Forehead furrowing
Deepening in the upper and lower eyelids
Loss of support of the outer angles of the eyes
Scleral image (excessive image of the sclera of the eye)
Fat herniation under the lower lids
Malar (cheekbone) groove depression
Malar sagging and drooping
Nasojugal groove (depression of the inner lower eyelid)
Deepening of the nasolabial folds and grooves
Drooping at the corners of the mouth (Marionette Lines)
Softening of the jaw line
Formation of the jowl
Loss of the lower lip volume
Flattening of the upper lip due to volume loss
Creases in the chin
Aging hands
Buttocks sagging
Flat or small buttocks

The patients who would like to correct any of the aforementioned cosmetic issues may be a good candidate for fat injections. Fat infection offers a number of benefits, including:

Long-lasting results
Because the fat used in the injections comes from your own body, there is no potential for an allergic reaction.
Discomfort level during the treatment is minimal.

Laser

The word “laser” is an acronym for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.” A laser can be used to create high-energy beams of visible, infrared, or ultraviolet light that can selectively transfer its energy into the tissue to treat the skin. Skin rejuvenation treatments utilizing lasers have become some of the most prevalent anti-aging treatments in the aesthetics industry. Laser rejuvenation procedures improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and discoloration of the skin with fast recovery time, minor discomfort and minimal bleeding. Lasers are efficient to remove the aged, wrinkled, and sun-damaged layers of skin, thus providing a healthier and more youthful complexion. Laser skin treatments can be benefited by men and women of any age and are typically used for the areas around the eyes and mouth, on the other hand, they can also be used for larger areas of the face.

A laser treatment can be performed for numerous skin disorders; however, the key for a successful result is to find a qualified physician who understands the laser technology and has the ability to perform the procedure safely and effectively.
